We're looking to expand the tutorials here at CG by including support/guidance in all aspects of coding, including the bit I can actually contribute to - XHTML, CSS and the fundemental basics behind good web design.

So: what specifically would you like to know more about? What, if any, tutorials would you like to see? Is there anything here our staff can do that you'd like to know? Any tips of hints about Photoshop that you're dying to learn more about?

Pop your suggestions here and we'll see what we can do. smile.gif

I'd like to see a tutorial for the most common errors/mistakes/what-have-you that web designers make in regards to coding. For example, when I posted here a month or two ago for help with a layout (for which I am excedingly grateful, I might add), someone pointed out a habit I had which wasn't very good. I was in the habit of giving DIV classes discriptive names like "header". I was told that it's easier for web browsers to read if I use standardized names like "h1". I had never heard this before. It would be great to have tips like that in a tutorial. biggrin.gif

This forum is flooded with all sorts of useful information; I think it would be cool if some of the "most-asked-how-to's" could be added to the tutorials section.
For instance, you know how Amanda has "BAB How-To" links in her signature & Jamie has a pinned post for common problems and additional features? Perhaps some of those threads could be edited/reformatted and placed in the BAB series.

There are other posts -- some BAB-related, some not -- which can be modified to be part of that series as well. When I was looking to make an RSS feed, I found an older thread here that helped immensely. Jenny (OrangeSkidoo) was definitely part of the discussion, so I'll have to do a search of her username to dig up the right link.

When I think "more tutorials!", Build A Blog is the first thing that comes to my mind, but obviously we don't have to be limited to that...

Something I think many of us could benefit from: A tutorial on how to create a conversion/import database script. If that's too complicated, maybe something a little less difficult, like using phpMyAdmin to convert the database structure?
(Keep in mind, I have no idea how advanced something like this is. Since I've been unable to find a tutorial as of yet, I'm guessing it isn't easy, but I might be wrong.)

Finally (for now, anyway), I know there are tutorials for it all over the place, but I'd also like to see a little something on mod_rewrite here...

I'm kind of surprised this thread hasn't been inundated with requests by now! C'mon, people, there must be more stuff y'all are aching to learn! wink.gif
